Management
Gavin LaRowe
CEO and Founder
Gavin has over 20 years of experience in both industry and academic sectors as a senior developer, technical lead, Open Source data and systems integration expert, and consultant. He holds a M.Sc. from Indiana University with a focus on large-scale information retrieval (i.e. Big Data), network science, and natural language processing in East Asian languages. Mr. LaRowe is also a former SAIS advanced studies fellow.
Marcelo Morales
Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)
Marcelo Morales has 22 years of experience in business management of industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, and medical services, including 15 years in life sciences. He is also the founder of A4Ventures, a Washington-based life sciences firm working with early stage companies in the biotech, medical device, and high tech industries. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he received a Masters of Business Administration, and a graduate of McMaster University where he received a Bachelors of Science specializing in Biochemistry.
Paul Laven
Paul is a Relativity Certified Master and subject matter expert in analytic solutions and technology-assisted review. With more than 20 years of technical consulting and management experience, he has an extensive eDiscovery background focused on using advanced analytics for regulatory matters involving financial, energy, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as extensive commercial litigation work. Paul has provided expert witness testimony and depositions, been featured on the kCura Advice Blog, and presented case studies at LegalTech NY. He is a retired non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Gary Morgan
Commercialization Manager - Mathematics, Physical Sciences
Mr. Morgan is the President of GMLM Innovations and is consulting for a number of independent companies to help grow them into successful enterprises. Mr. Morgan retired from Battelle’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in June 2011 as the Director of Public-Private Partnerships in the National Security Directorate (NSD). He was responsible for forming partnerships with commercial companies to accelerate the rapid deployment of laboratory innovations into the private sector. Prior to that, Mr. Morgan was a Technical Group Manager for two technical groups within the Energy Directorate. Mr. Morgan was then asked to manage the commercialization of technology for the newly formed National Security Directorate. Mr. Morgan managed an IP portfolio of 1200 patents as well as led four start-up spinouts to commercialize capabilities from PNNL. He also served as CEO for a Richland based Medical Imaging start-up for three years while employed at Battelle. During the last six years at PNNL, Mr. Morgan led a successful laboratory wide initiative to virally infuse agile principals (Scrum), which resulted in over 100 Certified Scrum Masters and many successful Agile projects within the laboratory.
Mr. Morgan holds a BSEE from Washington State University an MSEE from Columbia University as well as studying Computer Information Architectures in the Columbia Ph.D. program as part of the Bell Laboratories Graduate Study Program. He has eight patents in his name, has published numerous papers. Mr. Morgan completed training and coaching experience with Agile PM and holds Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Certifications.
Ray Knighton
Chief Scientist - Agriculture, Modeling & Simulation
Ray has over 30 years experience working in academia and the federal government. He has a strong research background in simulation modeling and stochastic processes and worked on solutions to help agriculture be more environmentally sustainable while at North Dakota State University. He has managed multimillion dollar science portfolios at USDA and created solutions to demonstrate impact and accountability of those portfolios. Ray has a B.S. and M.S. in soil science from Utah State University and a Ph.D. in soil physics with additional emphasis in chemical and agricultural engineering from Cornell University.
